Church Life

I am originally from India. I am a housewife and have three children. My religious background was previously Lutheran. When I came to the United States in 1985 I met with the church in Oklahoma City. I was very much impressed by the local church meetings, calling on the name of the Lord Jesus, and the speaking of all the believers. I was baptized in 1986. I very much enjoyed calling on the Lord Jesus. I used to think of God as being in a far off place, and thought I could contact Him only in an objective way, that is by praying to God in a particular place (a clean and neat place) and at a certain time. After I began meeting with the local church I learned I can call the name of the Lord Jesus anywhere and any time. I also learned that the church is the Body of Christ. Before, I went to church every Sunday but I never realized that the church is the Body of Christ. I really appreciate the vision of the Body. Christ is the Head of the Body. Without the Body, Christ has no expression on earth. Finally, I learned that prayer is talking to God, not only about my own needs, but also about His eternal purpose.
